North Brooklyn native Michael Russnak is a self-taught artist who also works as a decorative painter with Chuck Hettinger Studio Inc.

Employing techniques such as glass bead application and combed paint, he creates collage-like scenery and portraits with elements of surrealism and pop iconography. A recurring theme in his work is the transformation of the urban landscape and memories of places sacred to him. In the spring of 2017 he began working a new series of abstract expressionist paintings on plexiglass mirrors. He has exhibited at Leslie Lohman, Atlantic Gallery and PAAM.
